Study Abroad Application Instructions
1. Advising Process and Choosing a Program
You must make an advising appointment with the International & Exchange Programs Office. We can help you in choosing an appropriate program for your academic needs and ensure that you understand the application process, financial obligations, and transfer of credit for Study Abroad.Your Academic Advisor is a very important person to speak with about your plans to Study Abroad. Although registration will happen later, it is imperative that both you and your Academic Advisor begin the planning process with a clear understanding of which required courses and how many electives you still need to complete your degree at UMF.If you currently utilize financial aid to pay for your education at UMF, be sure to discuss your potential Study Abroad program with one of the Financial Aid Officers at UMF. In most cases, your financial aid can be used to pay for your Study Abroad program. There are also several opportunities to apply for Study Abroad scholarships.MINIMUM Eligibility Requirements:

All UMF students must submit Study Abroad application materials to the International & Exchange Programs Office and be approved to Study Abroad, BEFORE submitting any online provider application.
3. Meet Deadlines
Students are responsible for meeting posted application deadlines to be eligible to Study Abroad. Incomplete application and/or enrollment documents make a student ineligible to Study Abroad.
Completed UMF Study Abroad Applications must be submitted by the following deadlines**:
February 20: All UMF direct exchange programs for the following academic year (fall and/or spring);
Summer, Fall and Academic Year Provider programs
